Biography
Dr. Vivek Arjunan Vasantha is a Senior Researcher in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Driven by a deep passion for sustainability, to create innovative materials. Previously, he served as a Research Scientist at A*STAR, where he led initiatives to innovate specialty chemicals, including sustainable polymers, advanced coatings, and particle technologies. His research portfolio includes collaborative R&D projects with NUS, NTU, A*STAR, and various global research organizations. The research work has been published in peer-reviewed leading polymer materials journals. He also serves as a reviewer in many leading journals in polymer science and colloidal chemistry. His tenure at the Institut für Mikrosystemtechnik (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg, Germany, as well as at the Coating Research Institute (CRI) at Eastern Michigan University, where he specialized in surface immobilization techniques, stimuli-responsive polymer brushes, dispersion additives, and protective coating technologies. Dr. Vivek earned both his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India, where his fascination with materials science initiates. A significant focus of his research is the development of innovative sustainable polymers and advanced particle technologies that address real-world challenges.
Research Interests
Polymer chemistry, colloid science, interface engineering, stimuli-responsive materials, surface functionalization, rheology, stabilization, particle technology. Particularly interested in designing and characterizing novel functional composite materials, encapsulation methods, and formulation techniques.
