Biography
Oleksandr Pokholenko got his Ph.D from Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, Ukraine in 2003, where he stayed lateron as an associate researcher till 2005 concentrated on chemistry of heterocyclic compounds as well as cycloaddition reactions. Later he moved to Life Chemicals company, located also in Kyiv, where he applied his skills towards drug discovery projects and molecular modeling. In 2010-2011 years he stayed at ChemBioMed group of Prof. Philippe Barthélémy at ARNA Lab INSERM U869 unit at University of Bordeaux, France, where he got interested in studying structural features of biomacromolecules and their chemical modifications as well as designing drug delivery systems. Since 2014 he joined the research team of Prof. Terry W. J. Steele at Materials Science and Engineering School of Nanyang Technological University with focus on biophysical chemistry of biomacromolecules, their chemical modifications, especially those, friendly to in vivo conditions as well as biomaterials.
Research Interests
Physical chemistry of biomacromolecules. Chemical modifications of biomacromolecules, using them in materials science and nanotechnology.
